I cannot believe there are so many positive reviews about this place. I guess I just have higher standards for my pets and the way I prefer to be treated professionally, and NOBODY here was professional in any way. I still have NO IDEA who the Dr was bc NOBODY introduced themselves or acted one bit interested in my cat.

Here's my story: October of 2022 my six months old kitten became lethargic. Being from mineral wells and unknowingly having the absolute BEST vet 5 minutes from my house (I'd had awful luck with two other vets in town before my dog passed away in 2017) I brought Piper to this place simply bc I prefer female vets, and it was closest to mineral wells. As I said, the tech, or whoever examined her was totally unprofessional, and impersonal and didn't act one bit like she cared about Piper, then someone else came in, NO IDEA if it was the Dr, she looked about 18 years old (for all u super sensitive ppl: I'm not age shaming, I'm just making a point ...) and did NOT introduce herself so I thought it was just some random person walking in my exam room until she started talking about the test results. Long story short, and $400 LATER, they never gave a diagnosis except that it COULD BE ear mite related. They also forgot to charge for a stool sample and waited until way later after I got BACK in MW to text me some crazy payment link that DIDN'T WORK!! I'd already taken off work and couldn't again, so had to make special arrangements to drive all the way BACK to their office to PAY, and they didn't even bother to send the stool sample in UNTIL I Paid which would be the next day or so!! Even though it was THEIR Fault... How tacky after I'd already pd 300+ !! NOBODY apologized for my inconvenience or had the attitude that they gave one #@$# about anything. Guess what Bowie drive clinic? Because of that delay the sample was compromised and gave a false negative. Bc when I got through with the debacle of YOUR incompetence, I went to another clinic and they found what was really wrong with my baby. They were also kind, compassionate and professional, AND they actually CARED. No high prices, no fake, uncaring receptionist or young inexperienced vets who can't even diagnose something simple or take responsibility for their mistakes. If I hadn't followed up and gotten a second opinion my cat would have gotten sicker and sicker! DISGUSTING and shame on you.

The young lady at the front desk, I think her name is Brittany or something similar,: you should work on your professionalism.
She NEVER apologized on the behalf of the establishment for any of the mess ups, or acted one bit concerned about anything for that matter. Just pure fake smiles, repeating the same thing over and over... Like a recording.

I guess in hindsight I'm just from a generation where work ethic is a lot different than it obviously is reflected by these ladies. Me and Piper were treated like we didn't matter here and we don't appreciate that. So I take my beautiful babies Piper and her sis Kissy somewhere else now where we Are ALL appreciated.... and all is good! So long to this place 🙂

2024: There's a reason I update my reviews of Dr. Rutherford's clinic. They're simply amazing! Always helpful & are usually willing to work with schedules. We drive from an hour away just to come here for professional (but warm) service, cuddles, treats & more than fair prices! Dr. Rutherford has seen 5 of my dogs over the years & I recommend her to my friends & family as well.

2021: We've been coming here for 3+ years & will continue to bring our pets to Dr. Rutherford for as long as we have any! She has saved my dog's lives on more than one occasion. Her & her staff stayed late, called to check on them, gave them extra pets while in her care & they even make sure that my aggressive dog is comfortable while there. Thank you, Bowie Drive Animal Hospital for making sure my dogs are healthy!

2017: We came here after another vet's office was a complete hassle! We needed to have my dog put down, she was in pain & we needed action fast!
The receptionist got us in within 30 minutes. The situation was a terrible one, but the staff were VERY professional about it! I was pleased with the service we got, everyone made it clear that it was a judgment free environment, that's what I liked about them.

This animal hospital is so awsome! Even though I took my baby there cause she wasn’t feeling good and she was diagnosed with cancer her they were great. So kind, caring and loving to her and my family. We decided to put her to her to rest her not even a week after. They help me through this terrible thing and if I ever get another baby, I will bring her here. Thank you Dr. Weatherford and staff

They have always been so kind and helpful with the care of our animals. The staff are professional, and they really care about your pets and love their fury patients.

So I took my son’s dog here due to him having some incontinence issues. He is older so we thought maybe he had a UTI. She did x-rays and a sonogram. She also did a UA. She stated that his bladder was irritated. Put him on antibiotics. No change. Took him back and she did blood work or so she said and stated everything was fine. I also mentioned his weight loss and she said I could bring him in and she would check his stomach. After almost $1000 I decided to get a second opinion. The new vet called to get his records and they made it a huge problem to send them to the new vet. The bloodwork she supposedly did wasn’t sent. The new vet did their own bloodwork and called me immediately the next day. Needless to say my son’s dog is in end stage renal disease. Had she of done the bloodwork when she said she did, maybe he wouldn’t be as bad as he is now. He was still very active when she seen him but since it took a toll on him waiting to get information from another vet, he isn’t good at all. He is on meds, special food and gets fluid twice a week. He is now down to 50 pounds from 68. He is very weak and now won’t eat. Had she done all the things she should have or said she did, he may have a little longer here with us. I would not recommend this place to anyone!

The staff is very caring & understanding. They explain your treatment options in an easy to understand manner. They do not judge you for the treatment or non treatment you choose. I highly recommend them.

I've been bringing my furr kids to this clinic for years now. Most recently on 12/16/22 for my baby boy Orion to have his spleen removed. This entire staff goes above and beyond every single time, in every way you can imagine!! Orions surgery went flawlessly and he's had a perfect recovery. I can't thank them enough for all that they've done for me and my family!! Highly recommend FIVE STARS!!!!
